This policy applies to all families, including those using Utah Fits All Scholarship funds administered through Odyssey. We want every family to understand exactly how refunds work before they enroll.
The $100 application fee is non-refundable. If your student enrolls, the fee is credited toward your first tuition payment. If your student does not enroll, the fee is forfeited.
Tuition is invoiced on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, due on the 1st of each month. Horizon School sends invoices directly to families. Families using scholarship funds should submit payment requests through their Odyssey wallet by the invoice due date.
To withdraw, submit a written notice by email or letter to Horizon School. We ask for 30 days’ advance notice where possible. The withdrawal date is 30 days from the date notice is received.
Before the school year begins: If tuition has already been paid, the full amount will be refunded.
After the school year begins: Horizon School will issue a prorated refund based on the last full week of attendance completed. We believe students should not remain enrolled against their wishes, and we want every family’s transition to be as smooth as possible.
Refunds are calculated by the week — you are charged only for each full week your student attends. Any remaining full weeks in the paid period are refunded.
Example: Monthly tuition is $800 covering 4 weeks. Your student completes 1 full week then withdraws. Refund = (3 ÷ 4) × $800 = $600.
Refunds are processed within 10 business days of receiving written withdrawal notice and returned to the original payment source.
If tuition was paid using Utah Fits All Scholarship funds through Odyssey, any refund will be returned directly to your Odyssey scholarship account — not to you personally. If you paid out of pocket, the refund is returned to you directly.
Horizon School’s prorated refund policy is a voluntary commitment, not a legal obligation. We offer it because we believe families deserve a fair outcome when circumstances change.
Right to Transfer: Under Utah Code § 53F-6, you have the right to transfer your student to another qualifying provider at any time. Horizon School will never require you to waive this right.
